Front oxygen sensor is important for the engine to run properly, and safely.
In our 15+ years experience of dyno tuning RX-8s, front O2 sensors were always a huge issue. Some of the aftermarket sensors were working but reading too slow or bit off compared to factory, some of them were way off.  These issues cause incorrect fuelling which can lead to fuel consumption problems or even serious engine damage.
